Arnarstapi Hotel

The room was actually a weird, futuristic pod, but the view toward the ocean was just gorgeous. Everything was new and modern and very comfortable and quiet. It has a restaurant and is across the street from two or three other restaurants as well. There's a gorgeous trail along the cliffside that should not be missed. It's just a glorious spot. The location also can't be beat in terms of a base for exploring the whole peninsula. I loved it there.

I think the only thing we didn't like much was the longish walk along a slightly sloped boardwalk. Dragging our carryons up the walk was kind of a drag, but really not a big issue except when it was raining. I wish it had a canopy.

Location, kitchenette to cook simple meal, fridge, microwave, clean, bright & good space for lugguage. 3 beds for family of 4. Separate rooms. Stand alone apartment.

Sofa bed cushion sunken. Pillow is exactly like someone reviewed, sleeping on folded towel. Reception can be friendlier. Kitchenette no table cloth. We hve 4 pax but only 3 forks provided.

Location on the peninsula and within walking distance to coastal trail and food options.

Room did not have much of a view. Parking available was far from the room.

This is not bad for a place to sleep, it is clean, rather spacious and the beds are fine.

This is quite „industrial“ - it isn’t really a hotel, rather a motel of sorts with container-like cabins in a row from the reception. It is totally okay but not super nice. For a weekend getaway we probably should have gone elsewhere. BEWARE Of THE RESTAURANT: I paid almost ISK 4.000 (EUR 28) for a “rich and creamy soup with seafood” which turned out to be (quite tasty) fish broth with only three tiny slivers of probably crab meat. When alerted to this, the very friendly waitress thanked me for my honesty, which was nice but a bit puzzling. Not the dinner I had envisioned but, luckily, I had a bag of popcorn in my room so I survived ;)
