Hotel Hacienda del Mar

Wonderful location, easy walking to the beach, backs up to forest, lovely space. Very clean, great bathrooms and showers, which is very helpful for beach days. The front desk is helpful and pleasant.

The service in the restaurant is very, very slow and scattered. It can take 25 minutes to get a cup of coffee in the morning and can be challenging to get served at all but the food is good. No blankets for a family of four who all prefer different sleeping temperatures is hard. We used towels.

We stayed here in 2023 and loved it so we returned. Sofia at the front desk was lovely, in fact, all staff were really pleasant and professional. They even assisted with getting us back to Samara, which we are thankful for. The rooms, pool furniture looked updated. Rooms were clean, sheets/towels smelt fresh and clean. Breakfast and coffee tasted great. It felt like we had the place to ourselves.

I didn’t see anyone maintain the pool and it was dirty. The place seemed to lack staff, aside from the breakfast, kitchen was closed our entire stay. I inquired about happy hour and was informed they didn’t have a bartender. During our last stay, you were able to hear the birds and wildlife because the music was either off or turned low. I think the worst part was the power outage our last night from 11pm to 7am, made to difficult to sleep without air conditioning. A small fridge would have been great. Aside from us, we had two different couples staying right next door to us in an empty resort. It would have been nice to be spaced out in a room further in, away from the entry way and the music. We will always return to Carrillo but will try another place next time.
