This hostel does a great job on the social aspect. There are daily activities both at the hostel and out in nature. The restaurant food has good portions. You can book a huge variety of tours through them. The property is next to a river, which is nice for nature, but is also central for shops in town. The beds have good built in curtains and reading lights, the shower is a nice size, the lockers are sturdy.
I read about the AC in the rooms only being on from 9 pm to 9 am. What I didn't realize is that it also takes a few hours for it to cool the room up to the upper bunks. So don't expect a top bunk to be sleeping temperature until around 11:30 pm. The upper bunk ceiling is too low to sit up straight once on the bed. The mattress was the most uncomfortable one I've encountered in a hostel. If you are a side sleeper that needs hip alignment, you will find the mattresses in the shared rooms too thin.

This hostel is 10/10!! We were upgraded at minimal cost due to low season and our room was gorgeous. Hot showers with fabulous pressure!! Comfy bedding and the AC worked perfectly. The pool area is a nice vibe next to the resturant/bar. Excellent service from the staff, our room was cleaned everyday - we even had a new towel animal on the bed each day! Such a nice touch! The cleaners accidentally chucked out our food, the manager was alerted and we were compensated accordingly - can’t rave about the service enough.
Nothing it was perfect!

10/10! I had an amazing time at Viajero La Fortuna. The atmosphere was great, the property was beautiful, and the entire staff made the experience even better.
Huge thanks to Annie, Alfredo, Kendall, Yoel, Alejandro, Reyna, Maribel, Marilin, Roman, Blanca, Karen, Nahum, Andres, and Claudia! Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and helped make my stay one I’ll remember.

Scheduled said bar closes at 11 but closed at 10 every night I thought that was too early.

This hostel is great for young travellers and people who want to spend a couple of nights in La Fortuna at a budget.
Bunk beds are comfortable. They have a pool area and bar/restaurant to socialise with other travellers. The team was welcoming and helpful and they organise social activities daily. Great position.
I would not recommend it if you are looking for more intimate vibes or if you are 30+ traveller. Still, it was fine for a couple of nights.
One of my room mates found dirty sheets but the stuff changed them after she complained.
