Friendly welcoming staff. Really nice food from interesting menu. Lovely, quirky old building. Fantastic surroundings and access to beautiful countryside for walks etc.
Nothing really. Some may expect a sort of luxury that would not be in keeping with this building or its location, but not me.

Comfortable room. Great dinner and breakfast. Immediately on the Coast to Coast path.
Limited WiFi in room

Well located for coast to coast hike. Room reasonably comfortable - able to sleep. Updated bathroom. Breakfast average.
Rooms still need work - towel from previous occupant still in bathroom. Some peeling paint and holes in the wall. Wifi did not work in the room. No heater - but was provided when requested. No real common areas where guests can sit - dining rooms fairly shabby with old fire-damaged carpets etc (slightly beyond hunting lodge-chic).
