Loch Eyre House

The host was fantastic and very attentive, he helped us hire a taxi into the town. The place is absolutely gorgeous too and the breakfast was very generous.

It's quite far away from Portree so we had to pay £50 to go to and from the town which is standard in the Highlands but maybe something that would put people off if they didn't know

We were informed that the room came without meal options so we organised to arrive with breakfast options for ourselves. However upon arrival we were informed that a continental breakfast was provided. Just a little more clarification when booking would have been better.

Ça localisation dans l’île de Skye qui permet de rayonner dans toute l’île et la vue sur la mer depuis le Salon.

The room is not soundproofed, as stated in the advert. Every time the front door is opened, the door and the partition wall of the room shake. The breakfast room is right next to the room, meaning you can hear all the other guests’ conversations. The wall on the bedside is shared with the service area and is not soundproofed either. You can hear all the clatter of breakfast crockery being cleared away. Finally, the room opens directly onto the front door, so all the comings and goings of the other guests are clearly audible… Last but not least, the advert mentioned a view of the garden! In reality, the view is of the back of the house, where the staff park their cars! The price of this tranquillity ? 629.10 pounds for 3 nights or over 209 pounds a night … I spent two and a half weeks in the north of Scotland and this is the first time I’ve ever experienced anything like this!
