Ahndong Kimjongtaek Yangsodang

This a beautiful historical house that has been inhabited by the same family for eight generations. We really enjoyed the architecture and garden. The highlight was the friendly host, who explained the history of the building and his family and many other cultural details.

You will be sleeping on authentic futons in a protected house, so naturally, it will not have the comfort or amenities of a hotel.

Een prachtige hanok van honderden jaren oud. Natuurlijk slapen op een futon en wakker worden met zingende vogels. De eigenaar (we sliepen in zijn geboorte kamer) was vriendelijk en ook behulpzaam.

Tja, verwacht het comfort dat bij een hanok past.

Che dire….per una notte ci è sembrato di vivere nel periodo Joseon!! Hanok tradizionale bellissimo! Abbiamo dormito sui futon nella camera con le bambole e ci è sembrato di vivere nel passato! L’hanok è molto fuori Andong, più vicino all’hanoe village, e noi siamo arrivati con la nostra auto a noleggio. Ci siamo ritrovati in questa struttura molto antica, bellissima, con un prato curatissimo all’entrata. Il proprietario ci ha accolto e ci ha raccontato la storia della sua casa e quella della sua famiglia con grande orgoglio. Gentilissimo e molto disponibile. La camera era fighissima. Certo spartana con il bagno all’esterno, ma è una sistemazione tradizionale quindi così deve essere. Ci ha svegliati il canto del gallo e c’era una pace intorno che infondeva serenità. Bella esperienza.

Echt mooi traditioneel hanok huis met mooie tuin er omheen. Vriendelijke host, verwees ons naar goed lokaal restaurant waar je heerlijke bulgogi kunt eten.

Eind december is een verblijf hier een uitdaging vanwege de kou, dus wellicht beter om hier niet in de (strenge) winter te overnachten. Vloerverwarming in slaapgedeelte werkte wel goed waardoor we het ´s nachts uiteindelijk niet koud hadden. Maar de woonkamer kon vanwege de vrieskou eigenlijk niet gebruikt worden. De prijs is dan in verhouding tot de prijzen van onze andere overnachtingen te hoog.
