Mjóanes accommodation

Very pretty and comfortable accommodation. The bed was comfortable with a good sized proper mattress (not singles pushed together) and the room was warm with a beautiful picture window. I thought the kitchen / dining area would be too small with the five people all staying but we ended up having the best conversations we’d had all week after the larger but more impersonal guesthouses. We took the 95 road as recommended by Elsa and it was STUNNING! For me Iceland has definitely been about the road trip and journey rather than the specific tourist attractions.

It’s a good option for the price and could perhaps just have a few more kitchen basics (grater, kitchen scissors, an oven baking dish) but really these are very minor details

Self cooked bread is delicious! I ate double of my regular amount.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The cooking facilities are located in a separate building just a short walk and have everything you could possibly want to cook a full meal. Very large country kitchen with tables and chairs. The coffee was hot and waiting for us in the morning as well as a fresh loaf of bread, Thank-you Elsa.

All was well

Elsa was so welcoming and delightful. It was a very homey and secluded location. All of the other guests were so lovely, too.
