We stayed here for a long period, and it started to feel like home. The hotel was easy to find, and communication was quick and friendly. The room is basic, but it has everything you need and is spacious. The airconditior and ceiling fan was a tonic after a long day in the heat. The caretaker is so sweet, caring, and helpful. The hotel is in a wonderful neighbourhood away from the tourist noise but quickly accessible. There are lovely spots around within walking distance for delicious coffee, drinks, and views. We felt safe walking anywhere during any time of the day.
All we needed were a rack in the shower for our toiletries.

If I could rate the staff any higher I absolutely would, the most friendly and welcoming staff who helped with our washing and gave us umbrellas when it rained. There is a washing machine and dryer you are able to use free of charge or pay a very small fee (can’t remember exact amounts) for them to do it for you. Room was amazing and rooftop was a very nice area as well.
Far away from lots of the activities and famous Hanoi attractions, which can be great as it doesn’t get too loud at night but be aware that if you want to see lots of stuff you may have to get a taxi or grab.

I loved the wall mural in my room. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was a kitchen and dining room downstairs to prepare food or eat take out if you didn't want to eat in your room.
There are loads of cool cafés / bars and places to eat near by.

I didn’t have lunch/breakfast at this hotel, which does indeed allow each guest to cook their own food whenever they wish. There are also two excellent spots right at the foot of the hotel steps where you can enjoy a full Vietnamese-style lunch. The hotel is located in a pleasant, relatively quiet alley. It is self-managed by guests from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., during which time no staff are on duty. The staff are very friendly, and their English is genuinely excellent, although there are a few surprising and amusing little misunderstandings along the way. As discussed with the owner regarding the mosquito problem, she also mentioned that a sofa would be a nice addition to the room. Women are from Venus... :=) Or when I order for a taxi to pick me up at the hotel at 4:00 p.m. to get to the airport by around 5:00 p.m., only to receive an urgent message asking me to return to the hotel to sort out a problem with the taxi booking. The receptionist had assumed that I had forgotten to allow enough time for check-in at the airport. Men are from Mars... lol
Before arriving, I had asked whether an early check-in before 12:00 p.m. would be possible, explaining that I had no problem waiting until 2:00 p.m. if it wasn’t. Upon arrival, I asked whether my room was ready and received an enthusiastic “yes.” So, off I went to the first floor, only to find the room exactly as the previous guest had left it! The same situation occurred on the second and fourth floors. By that point, exhausted, I left my luggage in the room on the fourth floor, and I was promised that it would be ready by 2:00 p.m. I had a lot of problems with mosquito bites, which the housekeeper tried to help me deal with. The owner, whom I had the pleasure of meeting once, assured me that she intended to solve my “little problem” by providing an electric mosquito repellent plug-in. Unfortunately, she didn’t have time to do so, and I never saw her again.
