Mercure Figeac Viguier du Roy

The hotel is incredibly comfortable. Our room was lovely and large, the bathroom was great and the breakfast was magnificent. I have never eaten such good scrambled egg in a hotel. The hotel is in one of the oldest medieval buildings in the heart of the old town and has been adapted beautifully.

The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance to all of the old city. The restaurant in the hotel was absolutely delicious and it is located in a beautiful courtyard. Our waitress for dinner, Colleen, was excellent! She helped us choose wine for each course and explained the courses very well to us. The garden and pool area are lovely as well but the pool was very cold! We very much enjoyed the wonderful variety on the breakfast buffet. Our room was very clean, and well stocked. We loved the view from the little terrace.

It's very good that there's parking for the hotel but it's a bit challenging to find. They help you navigate it well, once you arrive, but on the initial arrival at the hotel it can be a bit nerve-racking to drive through the old city to the front door of the hotel.

The hotel is a beautiful place with a lot of historic character and varied spaces, including quiet spaces. We liked being able to use the swimming pool in September! We enjoyed the evening meal in the courtyard. The views to the cathedral and down the historic rue Emile Zola from our room were very good.

The fittings in the room - including bathroom fittings (shower especially) were dated and we had to fiddle with it to make both types of shower work. The breakfast was comparatively expensive, but good.

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are so well appointed. The pool was glorious. All in the centre of town.
