The service was excellent, probably the best we've ever had. It was the end of the season but every staff member was upbeat and helpful. The coffee refills at breakfast were faultless! The pool was a good size and temperature. The location was excellent for walking in to town with lots of restaurants nearby.

Despite Booking saying it was 'beachfront', it wasn't and the photos on the site are a bit misleading. The public beach is nearby, over a bridge, but the hotel does not overlook the sea. It is also on quite a small plot alongside a river so the sunbeds were arranged in serried ranks where most people faced the back on the row in front. It didn't feel like a luxury experience despite the cost. The breakfast spread looked fantastic but the quality was average and the one lunch we ate in-house was below par. The drinks were overpriced - a glass of cava outside was 6 euros whereas it was over double that by the pool. There were not enough sockets in the room.

Awful sewage smell the entire time. Food quality very average for 5 star hotel while incredibly expensive, especially the pool restaurant. Hotel check in was a slow and unwelcoming experience (the bellboys were great though)
