Hotel Tossal d'Altea

The atmosphere was lovely. Gentleman on reception was very welcoming. Room was lovely, bathroom was lovely.

We got down to breakfast with an hour to spare but the hot breakfast in the metal trays were hardly warm and no replacement came. There was one fried egg left. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room.

Peaceful location away from the Old Town but only 15mins to walk in. Lovely old Spanish style with period furniture, lush planting and undercover terrace. Also a pool which we didn’t try. Bathroom products also provided including toothbrush and comb, slippers and robes. Very interesting photos showing it was once used to produce olive oil. Very friendly staff.

The sealant around the bath needed redoing and a proper refurb with stand alone shower, rather than shower over the bath would be a big improvement. Breakfast was very very average.

This is an unique hotel. The perfect example of what one would expect from a Spanish traditional hotel, with extremely lovely food and old fashioned serviceability. Combined with a wonderful setting in a finca style (garden and pool) and a very good kitchen (paella is breathtaking, not the tourist cheap one), this hotel is a real gem! The owner couple are very friendly and sweet as all are other staff. Really exceptional. I stay for work regularly in famous 5 star top brand hotels, but this hotel is my real 5 star hotel! I dont give often a 10 score but this one is well deserved.

Beautiful Hotel . Old fashioned vibes with super friendly staff .Will definitely visit again.
