Gaia Guesthouse

Very neat, quite place with an excellent host Mary. The breakfast was really excellent with a great variety of homemade products. When the restaurant across the street was closed, Mary prepared dinner for us which we found to be very good.

Dilofo is a "ghost village" with almost no population, just one taverna (very good!), no shops, no traffic. For people looking for peace and quiet, it's an excellent location. The rooms are very well-equipped, comfortable and cozy. The living room is a nice meeting place for all the guests. Mary, the manager, housekeeper and chef was exceptionally nice and helpful. Her tips for places to go and places to eat were always on the spot. The best part (and pleasant surprise) was breakfast. We've never had such a breakfast, in Greece or elsewhere. It was prepared by Mary herself, serving an impressive variety of traditional dishes (different each day - and we stayed for 4 nights), all freshly-made with local ingredients by an excellent, loving hand. Mary improvised tastey gluten-free pastries especially for us, and was always ready to fulfil any other request. I would recommend staying here even just for this amazing breakfast!

The guesthouse is located about 100m from the village parking lot (inaccessible by car), so baggage must be carried manually, with the last part steep and bumpy. But it is a minor issue considering all other advantages.

We had a phenomenal stay. The village is stunning, the guesthouse is amazing and our host Mary is just wonderful. Do not miss the breakfast hand made by Mary and her staff. Fresh baked savory and sweet pies, home made jams and other goodies. Mary was extremely helpful with suggestions for trips and restaurants in the region and was spot on every time. I only hope I’ll make it back again!! If you are looking for peace and rejuvenating and breathtaking scenery this is the place for you

Beautiful room, great shower including the soap that had excellent smell. The owner was nice and offered assistance as she could. The place looks really good... Amazingly good. And the view is stunning.

Guest House is not on the road and is about 400 meters from the parking with an old stone road which is going UP. We had to leave our suitcases in the car. Not suited for one nighters like us or for disabled persons. A heads up would have been nice Breakfast was not good. Poor selection. Not what I expected.
