Altana Heritage Suites

Cristos and his team are wonderful and nothing is too much from collecting your luggage from the taxi (many steps..) to recommending ideas for the stay. He made it sound like individual advice rather than a rehash as most hotels do. Breakfast is served in the room in common with many hotels here. It is a big selection and set us up for the day. We paid for an upgrade which gave us more space - two exterior day beds and two bathrooms. Plunge pools are pretty much the norm for better rooms here in Santorini, There is no TV or radio to disturb the peace but WiFi is good so bring your own equipment if needed. The location is right on the best view in town where endless ladies parade for pictures in the flying dresses so you can imagine the view. Easy to walk along the top into "town" to eat or the other way to visit Oia. Small on site Bistro serving good Greek food .

We were unprepared for the number of steps in the hotel and indeed for getting anywhere here. Naive on our part! But it would be a factor if you had problems with endless steps. Nothing is flat! The rooms here are (in common with the other hotels) squeezed ingenuously into the space which makes for charming spaces, many in the rock itself. However, it also means almost no privacy as doors and windows open onto paths, some public. In our room, it was next to a door on the public path which meant guests walking past as we were sunbathing. Ok but no skinny dipping in the pool! We were in lovely October weather but can imagine that summer would be very hot for getting about and the room would be stuffy.

Incredible staff, room and views. The private hot tub was a great touch for watching the sunset. Highly recommend!

The hotel was in a perfect location with beautiful views over the caldera. The room and patio area was self contained and private. The Staff were very welcoming and helped us with all of our questions and transfers. Breakfast was delivered to our patio every day. We had a wonderful time and would stay again if in Santorini.

Nothing. It is was perfect. Just a note :The property would not be good for those with mobility issues

Wow, I had booked a superior apartment which I was perfectly happy with, but when we got there they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa with private hot tub. I was blown away by how gorgeous it was, and could have stayed there the whole trip. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and waking up to breakfast served on our terrace overlooking the caldera was amazing. You get to choose your breakfast every day. They also have a cute little restaurant/bar that serves amazing food and great wine. I would highly recommend this hotel.
