L'Esplai Valencia

Good comms pre-arrival from Africa and the team - instructions provided ahead of time and the property is relatively easy to find, although the entrance door is very subtle and you might walk past it - I did ! The rooms are on the 2nd floor and a list if available if you have heavy luggage. The property itself only has a few rooms and a fairly large communal area with a big fridge you can store things in and a few bits available for use. The rooms themselves are a good size and perfectly fine for what you need - a large bedroom with a separate bathroom with the usual facilities you'd expect. The window opens to a small balcony overlooking the street below - this gives you a real taste of the vibe Valencia has going. In terms of location you cannot go wrong her - you are a short walk from the Colon or Xativa subway stops and literally 60 seconds from the main square and the gorgeous cathedral. You are surrounded by bars and restaurants. Happily stay here again

A few things to improve the stay - nothing major, just small thing - a small fridge in the room would be preferred over a communal fridge - a small kettle and cups to make tea/coffee would be great - you are in the centre of Valencia, it can be noisy - ear plugs are enough to block out the sound - the air-conditioning was a 5 out of 10 - it cooled the room slightly but I imagine if it had been June - August time it would have been overwhelmed.

The room was lovely and the location was superb, and the host was very welcoming and kind.

I had such a wonderful stay here and honestly couldn’t have been happier with my choice. The accommodation is beautiful, and Africa was an incredibly warm and welcoming host who made the whole experience feel even more special. The location was perfect — right in the very heart of Valencia’s historic centre, close to everything, but still surprisingly peaceful and quiet. The room was exactly as shown in the photos: spotless, comfortable, beautifully designed and very well looked after. I’m genuinely so glad I stayed here. It was a lovely place to come back to after a long day exploring Valencia, and I would happily stay here again. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

The location was excellent. The building was excellent. We liked the room a lot. The host was very good and included breakfast one day with our rate.

Didn'l like the bed. It was small for 2 people. The bathroom was a dissappointment. The shower doors did not work well and did they did not close properly. In addition, the drain was slow and the water accumulated in the shower pan and spilled to the floor. A real fall risk.
