Stayed in a private double room - in the house next door to dorms. Share house situation. You could join in at the Back-packers or not. Both places were clean, staff were friendly, plenty of parking. Good location ... back gate for easy access to shops and cafes.

Everything was excellent. Friendly staff as always, and the beds were really comfortable. Had a great stay and would happily come back again.

We stayed here with my family and our three children. It had been a long time since I had last stayed in a hostel, but it turned out to be a great choice.
The owner was very friendly and easy to talk to. We immediately felt welcome. The hostel had all the facilities we needed and had a real holiday and surf vibe. It was peaceful and relaxed, and the guests were considerate of each other when it came to noise.
There is also a dog at the hostel, who is very well trained and well behaved. For example, he doesn’t go into the kitchen. Personally, I didn’t really like it when he came and stood next to you while you were eating, hoping to get some food. Our children, on the other hand, absolutely loved the dog and thought he was adorable.

I think if you’re a bit younger and travelling and used to it being a bit rougher then it’s good. Very social and has all the facilities. If you are expecting a higher end hostel with white linen etc etc then it’s not for you. There is an opportunity to book a queen room which is in a separate house to the hostel - book this instead of the hostel if you want it a bit nicer, it is worth the money. Staff friendly. Very cheap. Location is good for the little shopping area in Agnes water
Didn’t feel clean because the bedsheets are different colours and stuff but it probably was clean. Just small and a bit dingy but for the price it’s good.
