Staff were friendly, and where possible, helpful.

We have stayed here several years ago, and nothing has changed. It is tired and dated and desperately in need of updating. Carpets on stairs are filthy and thread bare. Furniture in rooms is damaged, chips and scratches all over and the bathrooms have seen better days just from wear over time. The car park seems to be full of white vans and lorries, seems to be a local truck stop so doesn't instill confidence when parking there. Menu in restaurant was changed and was different to the one online, and we were told it had been different for a while and the website just wasn't updated. It's a shame, it has the potential to be lovely as the staff really do try their best but it is in desperate need of modernisation.
