JUFA Hotel Schloss Röthelstein - Self Check-in

We were not in the object on the photo, we were in separate object, which was OK, but really not some accomodation to recommand. Also, the road around here has no streetlights, no sidewalk, so it's really not enjoyable for walking with kids at all. The staff was so ''nice'' that I'm wondering are they even getting paid or just volunteering here. Nevertheless, we had a car and had a great time within 20km area

A fully modernized castle hotel high on a hill with a view of the town. Very clean. Excellent service.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and extensive and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room, in one of the round towers, was large with many windows to spectacular views of the countryside below and mountains beyond. The bathroom and room were very clean. The hot water took some time to come through. Would definitely recommend just on the scenic location and being able to stay in a castle!

The location is beautiful, but a little further outside Admont than the Booking.com website had indicated. We arrived on fully loaded bicycles, having gained more than 350 meters elevation in 3.2km. We were very surprised to learn that there is no restaurant for dinner at the hotel, and that there is no taxi or rideshare service in the area. So, we were stuck at the hotel without much to eat that night.

This hotel apparently closed two years ago and then reopened this spring. There are plans to open the restaurant for dinner in 2027, but it would have been very helpful to know in advance that there would be no possibility for dinner at the hotel during our stay. The Booking.com site didn't say anything about that, nor did staff when I asked if there was a place to store our bicycles. It would have been fine if we had arrived in an automobile (easy to get back downtown), but at the end of a long day of cycling we weren't enthusiastic about riding up that hill again if we had gone down to Admont for dinner.
