Hotel Varmahlíd

Staff and spacious room

Too much simple breakfast

Hotel Varmahlid was a wonderful surprise. We were not expecting very much from a hotel 'in the middle of nowhere', while driving the north coast of Iceland. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and very clean and the meal in the restaurant was superb – first class food and service. The hotel is very conveniently situated and there are some very interesting places to visit nearby. We would definitely return!

There was nothing we didn't like – we thought the hotel was great.

I appreciated the service provided by the hotel staff. They were pleasant, caring, and made a real effort to help. The room was large and spacious

I was disappointed that there was no soap in the shower. For a couple, providing only one small bottle of shampoo is quite inadequate. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty as well.

Breakfast and dinner on site we're convenient. Dinner was tasty. Beds were comfortable and room temperature was great.

No hot options for breakfast. Most places have had scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. They only had cold options. The shower was very small.
