Malvasia Traditional Hotel

Look, it was a bit of a hike to get to the main gates, 50+ metres to reception and then another 300m to the hotel over uneven cobbles, but oh so worth it to be able to experience staying in such an incredible place. Tip: if you can reduce your luggage to only what you need for your stay and save your energy for exploring inside the walls. The breakfast was truly outstanding, my partner especially said they had the best bread rolls in the whole of Greece!

Nothing really - we were forwarned about the low door frames, just be prepared to duck it you are tall! If you feed the cats expect them to jump on your table. We sat close to a guest who did this several times but squealed and shouted when the cat she'd been feeding jumped right onto her plate of food.

It's relaxing, great view of the ocean, great traditional breakfast, and friendly staff.

There are 3 different buildings belonging to the same hotel. This one (Stellaki building) is close to the entrance of the village although difficult for people with mobility problems. The village is amazing. The most recent building of the hotel (at the very end of the village – Malvasia building) is used for the breakfast which was very good, with a nice atmosphere.

The room were we stayed was rather dark and not really comfortable for a stay in the winter. Maybe in the summer, when it is really hot, it may be comfortable but definitely not in the cold months. Reasonable comfort but nothing really cosy. Complicated distribution of room, living room and bathroom (this one with some steps down and very low door). If we knew it was so dark we would have paid a bit more and stayed in the most recent Malvasia building at the end of the village. The second night we had toilet flush noises the whole night from the room above which didn’t let us sleep.
