Zanzibar Sunrise at Bandas

Villa 2 was spacious and private. Food was good although not a huge menu so we were struggling by the end of the week. Music on Tuesday & Friday was good.

The 300m walk in the dark along the beach to the restaurant in the evening was a little unnerving. The mosque directly behind the villa wails & chants via a loud speaker EVERY MORNING at 4:30am & 5am for at least 15 minutes each time. I’m afraid this spoilt our time here. Lots of seaweed & rubbish on beach. Sea rough. Not the pristine sand & waters that we had envisaged.

Location is nice, the staff is very helpful and polite, the food is good but not that great. Fun hotel with free activities. Free parking.

There were a lot of insects in the room

All day breakfast, Very nice massages, good cocktails, nice reef walk and yoga, the managers seem to take feedback seriously (after we gave our feedback the manager approached us and talked about it. We received a small refund - 115$ from the 2690$ we paid, so... 4,27%. But if they improve for the next travellers it's also good)

-Horrible beach (constant harassment to buy crap while relaxing on the beach chair even with the hotel security present, full with algae, 0 possibility to swim). -very long waiting times for food at the restaurant and not always received what we ordered -stained towels (we went 2 times at the reception to ask for new ones, received new ones the 3rd time after we brought the dirty ones to the reception). -It gets very very very hot in the bungalow, no AC
