Bathtub on the balcony

As a western tourist my tastebuds weren’t accustomed to the flavours of the dishes served at the dinner, however I appreciated the food was very fresh and beautifully presented

Beautiful property with amazing facilities! I was a solo traveler but never felt out of place. The bath in the room was as fantastic, very peaceful even on a rainy day. It was also really close to the cable car which was a great experience.

It was my first time at a ryokan and the meals were exceptional however due to the language barrier I wasn’t really sure what I was eating when etc or what to do, especially with the hot pot. This was entirely my own fault but something for people to be aware of.

A perfect hideaway giving us a break from the business of the bigger cities. It was a very welcome peaceful leg of our Japan holiday. It was authentically Japanese and loved the little touches, such as the casual Kiminos, and all the different footwear! The staff were very polite and we very much enjoyed being looked after by them. The open air bath was a real treat! It was well situated to maximise the use of the Hakone Free Pass. A great way to explore!

It is very close to the gora station which means you are well placed for any activity you might like to pursue.

The room was a bit worn down even though the hotel is from 2006. It’s half board but there is no coffee for breakfast, you have to get it yourself in a little room that serves as a cafeteria.
