Baobab Beach Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

In the recently renovated KoleKole rooms, superb. The animation team make this place special. Evening shows are creative, energetic and finish with getting the guests involved. The day activities help people meet if they want to. Creates friendly atmosphere but no pressure. Great pools, beach and reef close by, separate reception for our end worked well.

The new floors are slippery. More towels and a shower mat would be appreciated. Slam the door or an alarm rings. Could not get in to the spa, booked out.

Junior ocean view suite with a hot tub . Staff very friendly & attentive. Evening entertainment was brilliant. Food was varied

10am check out , if want late checkout have to pay 75% of room fee to keep till 4pm plus extra charge to take advantage of AI for the day after 10am. Have to pay extra for premium drinks. AI cocktails not great. Constant hassle on the beach by beach vendors

Stayed for 3 nights in Superior room of Maridadi wing. Hotel has a beatiful location, the whole area is park-green and well maintained. Facilities an rooms are generally a bit worn out, which is ok for 50 year old establishment. All-inclusive meals are moderate at best, if you have stayed in similar hotels in Egypt, you know what to expect. Yet on a positive side is good variety of fresh fruits and quality choice if alcoholc beverages. Service is relatively poor, as you are expected to tip on every step to get any attention. But this becomes almost a norm after a week in Kenya when you get used to constant flow of people trying to sell you stuff or services.

Most disappointing and irritating about the stay was the requirement to pay 75% of the "standard rate" (whatever that is) to keep the room for late checkout. Me and my wife had a late flight and wanted of course to spend the last day of the vacation with reasonable comfort. First we were informed that our room is not available and we needed to move. After several talks with personell we could finally keep the room, but for a payment of 300 eur, that is to be able to keep the room for 7 hours: so 43 eur per hour or approximately 900 eur/night. And observe that this is not a 5* hotel. Not quite sure if we were again expected to tip someone to get reasonable conditions, the whole situation left a plain blackmail vibe. Vacation mood spoiled!
