Onefam Ribeira

I had an amazing stay at ONEFAM! I stayed in a 4-bed mixed dorm, and the atmosphere was super friendly and welcoming. It’s basically a party hostel, with great activities during the day and night, making it so easy to meet people and make new friends. Plus, there’s free dinner offered every night you stay, which is such a nice bonus! Big shoutout to Ally, Asia, Yule, and Danielle (sorry if I missed anyone!) — you were all amazing and made the experience even better. Definitely recommend if you’re travelling solo, love socialising, and want to have a great time. Would 100% stay again!

Nothing, everything was great

Staff were really nice and there were organized events every evening/ night. Despite being a bit of a party hostel it wasn’t overly loud during the night but some noise is unavoidable. Overall quite positive/fun vibes.

I booked a private room which was fine but I’d only recommend if you want the social aspect or you get a really good price because it’s quite small and simple. Also the doors and windows are thin so a lot of noise came in from the street and from people arriving during the night etc. You could probably get a better value airbnb or hotel if you want to sleep well.

The hostel was very clean, safe and perfectly located, making it easy to explore Porto. Everything we needed was available. The free dinners were always really good, and I loved that they organized activities, games and visits every day. The staff also gave us great recommendations to make the most of our stay. Heloisa was especially welcoming, friendly and always available whenever we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place!

My experience at Onefam Ribeira When I arrived at the hostel, I was very well received by the staff. However, there were some aspects that made my stay less comfortable. The first point is the large number of stairs. I understand this may be due to the building structure or even the city itself, but it could be improved for better convenience. The room I was initially assigned, even though I chose a 4-bed option, was quite far and had a closed window, along with dark beds and curtains, which created a somewhat enclosed and uncomfortable atmosphere, almost like being in a bunker. When I raised this concern at the reception, I was told it was the room I had selected, but I was offered the option to upgrade to a single room for an additional cost of around 30 euros. I chose to upgrade, and from that point on, my stay became much more comfortable, with significantly better sleep quality. Despite these issues, I still consider the hostel to be good overall. Some of the challenges may also be related to the city or general building conditions in Portugal, where I experienced mold issues in other places as well. The Wi-Fi is reasonable but could be improved, especially on the upper floors. The bed linens, blankets, and mattress could also be of better quality. On the positive side, the cleanliness is very good. I would recommend the hostel, especially for those choosing single rooms, as the location is excellent.

There are too many stairs, which makes access uncomfortable. The room felt claustrophobic, like a bunker, with no proper ventilation or natural light. The bed, linens and mattress could be significantly improved for better comfort.
