The location, and especially the extensive back garden. You could sit outside in 5 or 6 different places and watch the afternoon turn into evening. Very comfortable, especially in hot weather.

An unfriendly reception when we arrived to check in. Despite having all the personal details from Booking.com, thet insisted on us filling in long forms with all that information - and more! No explanation other that it was "hotel policy." Then there was a problem about keeping my wife's medicine in the freezer and the fridge. The whole process took 45 minutes. Another 5 minutes and we would have left without staying! Eventually the member of staff who was unhelpful about the medicine apologized, and offered us a free drink later that afternoon. All's well that ends well!

Beautiful property with access to some nice hiking routes. Room was comfortable and bathromm recently updated: clean and functional.

Contrary to the excellent evening meal, breakfast was of mediocre quality at best. Lovely bread, but otherwise cheap supermarket quality products. Staff could at times come across as rude.

The mill and the nature around it was really beautiful, the bed comfy and I had a view of the small park outside with the river, which was lovely. The bathroom seemed to have been renovated recently and there weren‘t many guests

Quite a lot unfortunately. When we arrived the heaters were all set to 5 degrees, meaning it was really cold in the room. I slept with my clothes and socks on. The wifi didn’t work properly (or not at all actually), meaning the TV didn’t work either, the bed sheets didn’t seem completely clean, the staff wasn’t that friendly at times, and I was awoken by the housemaids every morning at 7am since their room was right next to mine and they slammed the doors on the regular. To top it off; the shower doors didn’t close properly because a small piece that was supposed to hold them in place, had broken off. It also seemed like they were trying to save on every possible thing (very thin toilet paper, cardboard cups instead of glasses, the cheapest snacks that were then sold for 5€ a pack etc). The location is also quite dangerous for when you have pets; my dog and I were nearly run over because the mill is located directly next to a small street often used by locals, that drive way too fast past. And since the river can be quite loud when it has rained recently, one only hears a car coming when it’s a few meters away. Obviously not the fault of the mill owners, but would have been good to know! Also their additional charge for dogs was 17.50€ per night, which I found compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at, quite expensive. They did give me one night for free, thanks for that! Really a shame though; had been wanting to come here for a long time and was a bit disappointed.
