Charoen Thani Hotel, Khon Kaen

Good location and within walking distance to fairyland shopping plaza (small but has everything you need) Staff were excellent and hotel (although aging) is comfortable and friendly. Nice big swimming pool and fitness centre on site.

I stayed 1 night the first time about 2 weeks ago and my room was upgraded to a corner unit which was much bigger than the room we got allocated for my 2nd visit this time. I was alone for the first visit and with my partner and child the 2nd visit so would have made more sense to upgrade on this visit rather than the first. Only real gripe with the room is if you want to boil the kettle, there is only I available power outlet that the kettle cord will allow you to use and that means putting the kettle on the floor near the bathroom door. Not really ideal when you have a 3 year old running around. There is a 2nd power outlet available also near the floor in the corner but you can’t use that one unless you leave the lights on. Oh well we are in Thailand.

Comfortable, cosy and quiet in classic hotel. Rooms are starting to be renovated to look more modern but still regain a touch of the former vibe. TV now has some farang news channels. Lovely buffet breakfast.

Check in went smoothly, room was very large and good view of the surrounding areas from the 11th floor of my room.

All facilities ok sorry exaalatbar and coffee shop in reception closed. Bad escalator not working.
