The staff are really lovely, there's an unheated swimming pool which we found refreshing after a hot day of exploring, & the breakfasts are good & change every day. The building is amazing to explore, with rooms & sitting/dining spaces tucked all over the place, including high up so you can get some breezes. The WiFi worked fine for us. The beds all have netting over them & most rooms have a floor fan as well as a ceiling fan.
The location can be difficult to find, as Google Maps can't navigate through the narrow paths between buildings. The showers are just cold, which is OK in hot weather but can be abrupt in cooler conditions. All of Lamu is served by donkeys, which means there's donkey poo everywhere, which brings flies that are a bother when eating. The fly issue is ALL OVER Lamu, not just at Jannat House.
