Our stay at Vila Marim was one of those experiences that makes a trip even more special. After a full day exploring the Douro Valley, visiting Quinta do Seixo and Quinta das Carvalhas, we arrived at this beautiful property surrounded by vineyards and incredible scenery. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous — beautifully designed, extremely comfortable and full of thoughtful details and amenities. The beds were wonderful, and even the fragrances and little touches throughout the room made everything feel special. We arrived quite late, around 10 pm, when there was no longer staff on site. We had received clear instructions by message, but since the accommodation is spread across separate little houses, finding our room and carrying our luggage from the parking area in the dark was a bit challenging. I would definitely recommend arriving before sunset if possible — especially because the surroundings are too beautiful to miss! And the next morning completely made the experience. Waking up to the sun rising over the Douro mountains and vineyards was simply magical. Breakfast was outstanding: incredibly complete, fresh and delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Enjoying it with that view was the perfect way to start the day and recharge before continuing our road trip towards Lisbon. A beautiful, peaceful and memorable place to experience the Douro Valley. We would absolutely stay here again.

Well positioned property in the hills of the Douro Valley with spectacular views. Lovely swimming pool amongst the vineyard. Sadly for the price being charged it comes up a bit short. Adequate breakfast.

Sadly if you are an English speaker you will get zero assistance from the ever present staff who don’t speak English. This is a shame as there is so much information we would have liked to get from them about the pension and area. No WIFI in room No fridge or coffee making facilities which you would have thought would have been standard at the price being charged.
