San Francesco Heritage Hotel

All staff were very helpful and very nice indeed. The cloisters atmosphere was wonderful - very peaceful Location in the centre of the old town was excellent. Breakfast was the usual continental. Coffee was good.

The room we were allocated is not what we expected from the Booking.com website. The rooms shown on the website were the renovated ones, bigger, brighter and more modern. The room we were given was very basic and the shower was very small. There was no TV (probably a blessing) and the only mirror was in the bathroom cabinet. We decided to complain but when we reached the reception another couple were already there complaining (loudly) about the same issue; we decided we didn't need the stress and got on with our holiday. But it was very disappointing that for our very little 4-night stay we did not have a nice room.

The location is very convenient to access the ancient city as it’s part of it. Many restaurants around, old port and promenade at walking distance. Shops and bars nearby but it’s very quiet in the street and in the convent.

You cannot access by car so if you have heavy luggage’s, it could be a challenge. The nearest car park in the street is probably 500m if you are lucky.

Wonderful location right in the centre of Alghero's old town. Although there is no parking, there are free places outside the walls that are only 10-15 minutes walk away.
