Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay

The staff who were driving us around the hotel were really kind, friendly, always smiling, and very helpful. The view from the hotel was also beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. However, one of the ladies at the reception had a rather dry attitude, and I felt that her smile and attitude didn’t seem very genuine.

I booked a room with a private pool because I was expecting to have a good level of privacy and be able to relax. Unfortunately, I was quite shocked to see staff working directly in front of our room, which really affected the experience. The pool itself also didn’t feel as private as I expected it to be. But honestly, the biggest disappointment happened on our very first day. When we arrived, one of the staff members recommended that we attend a hotel membership presentation. We were told it would take around 1.5 hours, that we didn’t need to register or pay anything, and that we would receive a Phuket tour or vouchers in return. Based on that, I agreed to attend. Once we sat down with the sales team, though, it turned out to be quite different from what was explained to us. They kept trying to convince us to buy the membership and told us that the offer was only available at that moment. What was supposed to take around 1.5 hours ended up taking more than two hours. We were already tired from travelling, but they continued pushing us to accept the membership. I was honestly surprised that a well-known five-star hotel would do this to guests, especially on their first day. We had just arrived and wanted to relax and enjoy our holiday, not spend two or more hours in a sales presentation. If the main purpose was to sell a membership, I feel this should have been made clear from the beginning instead of presenting it as a tour in exchange for a voucher or activity. As for the room, I asked to change rooms, and the hotel did move us to another one, which I appreciate. However, even the new room still didn’t provide the level of privacy I was expecting. Considering the price I paid, I honestly expected a much better experience, especially from a well-known five-star hotel. When you pay this kind of price and specifically choose a private-pool room, privacy is one of the main things you expect. There were some positives.

staff is super amazing, but they try to sell you their membership when you checked its sounds like they want to sale their presentation time for their membership in order to get FREE city tour. Beach is very far to go there and cross the main road.

i upgraded my room with view but they give first with tree between sea view then next day upgaded, pool was very much insects which they cleanup on last day night, they refund some amount also but ... also their shutte service through app is very bad, tax to paton beach is min 200 bhatt , in hotel details, it says its very near to paton beach. sometime shuttle comes late if you call through reception. room lights were fluctuating , 4-5 times at night it suddenly open all lights , seems like they have old style lights switch room. last but not least their bed is so hard to sleep.
