Le Dome

The Dome may be a small hotel but it's very well placed for a short walk into the centre of Arras. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) who spoke excellent English. Parking was a little tricky as the hotel has only a few parking spaces but the owner kindly moved his car to accommodate us. We were given a spacious quiet room with the most comfortable large bed. Breakfast was a comprehensive help yourself buffet but the owner made the coffee for us. Overall, a lovely stay prior to getting LeShuttle at Calais.

Nothing. The Hotel is a little tricky to find but if you miss the archway to the courtyard first time round, it's fairly easy to go back on yourself and no one hooted us even though it was rush hour on a Friday night.

Good enough for an overnight stay en route to Calais. Parking and central location.

Not so easy to find and no lift! Note to self:- Always check! Also toon more than an hour to reach someone to gain access.

Good sized room, with comfortable bed and mattress and also a decent shower. Breakfast was good and there was a pleasant spacious atmosphere in the breakfast room.

We were in an upper room and there were a few things which weren't ideal. The wi-fi reception in our room was so weak we had to rely on 5G - not expected these days. Some conversational noise could be heard from the adjacent room, and the lack of a lift meant lugging heavy suitcases up to the 2nd floor. Probably not much can be done about that, but I don't recall seeing any mention of the absence of a lift in the hotel's online description.

The room was spacious clean, nicely presented and comfortable. Compared to the outside of the building, the interior is a nice surprise!

We were lucky and arrived early but had we been later, parking is very limited with spaces that were once available to the hotel, now no longer accessible to them. If you want to check in before 5pm you need to advise the hotel and pay extra as the receptionist is only there at specific times.
