Villa Verde Ella

The hotel is rustic and that is part of the charm, it is located around 30 minutes out of Ella town but the staff are so helpful and will pick you up and drop you off when asked, so even though it is quite far out it doesn't feel it as there was never an issue getting too or from the hotel, That staff are the biggest positive of this hotel, there is nothing that is too much for them, it's run by 3 boys who work really hard and went out of their way to make our stay as good as possible, no matter the time, they have great local knowledge and can help with anything you ask, The villa itself is rustic, but it is so charming, the views from the hotel and private pool of Ella rock and ravana falls are spectacular The room has everything you need, and more than enough space, it's not your typical hotel room as there is different parts to find and explore but you get your own little kitchen downstairs as well as chimney, bedroom and balcony Breakfast was another positive as it was probably our favourite breakfast we had in Sri Lankan! Overall this place is such good value and the staff are so helpful it's easy to recommend this hotel!

This isn't a negative, just something to be aware of, in-between the two villas is two rocks you can easily climb, the views are unbelievable but there is quite a big drop on the other side, if you are going with children just be mindful that this is there and supervise them at all times, but as I said, this is in no way a negative

The location was very peaceful & beautiful, nestled in the mountains. A beautiful pool for swimming after a hot days exploring. The host and staff were all very friendly and the food was very good there. The accommodation is a long way from the restaurants so you eat at their restaurant due to travelling the dirt roads. The roads are being worked on so soon the travel to and from will be easier. Saying that, Sanjewar provides a private shuttles to connect you with your tour guides & tuk tuk transport. They are very accommodating. And we enjoyed our stay here. The most peaceful & tranquil place we’ve ever stayed.

The quiet location is superb, the staff is very helpful and friendly and serves tasty food

The road is in a horrible condition and thus it takes a long time to get into Ella itself. The pool needs cleaning

the hotel way was so bad you have to go there tuk tuk. The rooms were not too clean and breakfast is not free
