Hotel Sal de Mar

Everything was great and the hotel itself is beautiful, as well as the view and staff who work there. :)

Getting to the property especially at night is a bit like playing Mario Bros. You need to go up a steep hill, first part paved and then up a dirt road (with absolutely no light at night) and then go up very steep narrow steps where at the end two vicious dogs await. At night they become especially territorial and should definitely be tied or inside their house, yet they are not! A very nice but ambivalent old lady, the owner of the house, lets them run loose regardless of the fact that they are quite wild. As a result, unfortunately it is an ordeal to get to the hotel, especially after sunset. —There surely must be something they could do to make the walk up to the hotel much more comfortable and safer for the guests. Like putting some lights leading up to the place and making sure those dogs are not a threat to guests. (Btw. The hotel is a good 10 minute walk from the Main Street, not half a block as it appears on the map). Please note: once you’re safely inside the hotel everything is super nice!

It is not that close to the beach! A 15 min walk up a steep dusty road with many many steep steps! If you are not fit you would struggle! We hired a scooter to get to and from the beach but you need to be a confident rider as it is a dusty in made road !

Beautiful rooms, amazing ocean views, lovely swimming pool, very peaceful.
