Anthemis Hotel

The location is excellent. It is right near Sultanahmet Square and only about a 30-second walk from the tram station. The building is modern and well renovated, and the rooms, corridors, and common areas are all clean and well maintained. The mattress is soft and comfortable. The staff are also polite, friendly, and helpful. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth the price.

I did not encounter any major problems, only a few minor issues. First, the room door cannot be locked mechanically from the inside. This means that, technically, anyone with a master key card could open the door while you are inside or sleeping. Of course, I do not expect this to happen, but it is technically possible. Normally, hotel room doors should also have an additional manual lock from the inside. Second, the water pressure in the shower is a little weak. Third, the breakfast is somewhat limited. If you are a picky eater, you may not find many options that suit you. That said, none of these issues are serious enough to negatively affect the overall experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel and would comfortably recommend it.

Very central location but travellers should note that as it is located in pedestrianised area taxis cannot come to the door.

The location was excellent especially with the tram stop at the end of the alleyway. The view from our room and the breakfast room was beautiful. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bistro next door was really good.

The breakfast was not to our taste. A better selection of cereals for those who can’t eat salad at breakfast would have been good.

Stayed at hotel anthemis during my trip to Istanbul. Although I wouldn’t say it is a 4 star property but maybe because of its location it does attract quite a lot of tourists. Stay locality- perfect for sightseeing, near to amazing restaurants and cafes, right next to the tram line, good connectivity. Food- they offer good breakfast buffet with good views of blue mosque and the sea, which is a plus point. Restaurant staff are good and courteous. Food quality is also decent for the buffet. The restaurant downstairs is very reasonably priced, they do offer discounts for guests staying at the hotel which is also a good point in my opinion.

Room- The pictures in the website and booking.com were a little exaggerated as compared to the reality in terms of the size and ventilation of the rooms. Quite crammed up for a double bed room. They do have a suite on the 5th floor which is good but then again for the price I am not sure about the value it gives. The AC in our rooms weren’t working on day 1 and they did fix it up after quite a hassle which was a disappointment start. The balcony is not neat and crammed. You do hear loud noise from the streets at night so that is also something to bear in mind
