Lovely historical old pub. Location is good and quite close to Iron bridge. Beautiful gardens.
Staff were great too.
Room was large and a little quirky, bathroom was great. Breakfast was basic but nice.
Car park a bit of a challenge because its entrance is right off the busy main road. Stairs no lift. Carpets could do with a really good cleaning.
Our room faced the main road so was a bit noisy.

The food was excellent and far exceeded expectations. Dinner was superb and it was one of the best steaks that I have had in a very long time. The menu was great and breakfast was of high quality and served in a friendly and comfortable environment. The hotel was very old and quirky and individual. Much nicer than staying in a hotel with a corporate and impersonal feel. Walked through the gardens (Herb garden and secret garden) which were clearly loved. Would 100% stay there again.
Nothing we didn't like.

We liked the mood, the ambience, the dramatic styling of the place, and the food. We didn't eat there in the evening but the breakfast was very good. Access to the garden was a lovely bonus.
Sadly, for a family of five, our room location did not provide a decent night's sleep. We liked the extravagant room decoration, but the noise from the traffic and the light from outside ensured that some of us didn't sleep well. The window had an extra insulating window over it, but it wasn't that effective. The main double bed wasn't that comfy either as we could feel the bed springs beneath us.
