Hôtel Le Siècle

Charming old building in the centre of Mazan, a few minutes' walk from all facilities. The manager went out of his way to make us welcome and arranged a room on a lower floor when he saw I was struggling with the stairs. The then contacted a local restaurant to make sure we could secure a table, which we appreciated hugely after a rather strenuous drive from Italy. The smell of delicious, fresh bread and pastries woke us each morning; breakfast was tasty and more than sufficient and we enjoyed eating on the terrace in front of the hotel.

The stairs were a bit of a struggle for me, but it's an old building and I understood when booking that it might be an issue. Otherwise an excellent hotel.

The owners are the kindest and friendliest people. They really make you feel welcome and at home. I was staying for a wedding and they helped me out with arrangements such as a hair appointment/taxis etc - even giving me and other guests staying for the same event a lift to the venue, which was really appreciated. They had lots of information available about places to eat locally. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had everything we needed in general and to make sure attending the wedding was smooth and stress free! The property itself is lovely. It is a quaint historical building opposite the main church in Mazan, in a beautiful square. It is a peaceful location but also right in the centre of town, with a brilliant bakery just behind it! Inside, the hotel is super clean, has all modern facilities (air conditioning/heating in the room, power shower all worked really well) but they have kept the historical character of the place. It’s super cosy. The room was also much more spacious than it looks in the picture - I had a single room and was expecting it to be cramped but I had plenty of space and storage space. It was really very comfortable and the view from the room was incredibly beautiful, over the town with the mountain in the distance. The communal areas were cosy and comfortable - the indoor lounge and the outdoor patio. There was also a drinks fridge available at any time for cold drinks/water etc in the communal areas, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was great - nice variety. Overall it’s a lovely, welcoming and cosy place and the owner’s kindness just made it extra special for me.
