This colonial relic has atmosphere and is a good choice if you want to stay in Denpasar. The garden Cafe is a pleasant place for breakfast or dinner, staff there are nice, and the food is ok. There are some good eating places and cafes nearby and it is near Puputan square and the museum (currently closed)
The place is fairly run-down, and needs some money spent on it. My bathroom looked like not much had been done since the Dutch period.

Its an old colonial style with big Veranda, good value for money.
Lack of maintenance, bathroom is quite dirty with the sink tap broken. Swimming pool is full of algae.

staff very welcoming. nice and innocent people. though the room not that luxury but it had the warmth..pool great. only in morning kids used to make noises but that's ok. breakfast good- just needed

History:
The hotel's importance as the only accommodation for sea travelers especially between 1927 & WW2.
A faded glimpse of the late Dutch colonial time of Tempo Doeloe, needing urgent governmental support.
If people continue to avoid staying here, it will eventually lose it's economic relevance with a loss to cultural history of BALI.
Breakfast and warung menu options: adequate but quite outdated.
Personnel: Complacency has crept in for too long (Warung staff & kitchen), yet upper management want improvements
