I read reviews in advance so the mixed experience was expected. The booking I made was last minute and a cheaper price than if I had booked earlier. The facilities compared less well with bookings at same price in other places I have used nearby. Overall the place was clean in the areas that mattered - bed, toilet, shower - though the toilet at end of corridor arrangement (for Room 8) was something to deal with. The toilet/shower room was not shared so that weighed on the positive. As another reviewer mentioned, the toilet entry door is very narrow. My room has smallest ever prize but the mattress was comfortable and the kettle worked.

The overall feeling of the place was that attention was focused on functional cleanliness in important areas so good start. However, so much of the building was crying out for proper care and attention it made me feel a bit sad. The room charges are not particularly cheap in my experience. In terms of a comfortable bed for the night the place did the job. No individual heat source would make me think twice about risking in the winter, especially with old window that didn't shut properly.

Great location, and contrary to some reviews it was nice and quiet !! I had the basement room, was perfectly fine.

It could do with some renovation - but i didn’t expect luxury.

Location was excellent and convenient to walk from the subway. A bakery literally around the corner and somewhere to eat and drink directly opposite.

The location meant that night life kept you awake until 3am! We stayed on a Friday night in room 6 which is right in the street at the front of the property. I think a room at the back wouldn’t have this issue.
