Robert speaks good English and likes to show you the garden flowers. As a fellow gardener, it was great to learn about the tropical fruits, herbs and flowers. The staff are very friendly a d you can relax.
There is a small mosque across the street and the early call to prayer always woke me up.

Blue garden Hotel is quite remote from Yogyakarta's best attractions, but, on the other hand, it is located in nice & peaceful area. We liked the pool, restaurant and the design of hotel. Owner was super friendly, he let us stay longer the last day and helped with ordering transport to the temples. Rooms were clean and big, bed comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was ok (but not the best we had in Indonesia). I definitely recommend Blue garden hotel.
Some facilities were worn out, pressure in shower was weak. And there was a little smell in the rooms, especially during the day, but these are minor issues. Only cash is accepted at the desk.

The location was really good with easy access into the centre of town (Grab). The views over the rice fields was beautiful. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious and the pool area was lovely.
The breakfast and the dinners we had at the restaurant were really nice, Ioved the pancakes and both chicken woku and beef rendang were delicious.
We don’t mind the calls to prayer at all but for anyone who does earplugs were provided.
There was a slight musty smell in the bedroom although it was spotlessly clean, maybe some air freshener would help?

Felt like a haven far from the hustle & bustle, but still close enough to do all the touristic things. Really appreciated the restaurant. It was a relief not to have to go out and look for a place to eat. Felt like they were our private chefs 😁
My only criticism is the weak-bulbed bedside lamps. Their light is just too weak to read by. There’s also the muezzin’s call to prayer several times a day (why do many? Are they really bad people? 😉) But that’s Indonesia, same everywhere.
