Hotel Borgo Pantano

We loved our stay at Borgo Pantano — it was one of those places where we felt completely at ease from the moment we arrived and really didn’t want to leave. There is a wonderful atmosphere throughout the property, and a few things stood out to us in particular: The staff and the owner: Everyone we met was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and it genuinely felt like people enjoyed working there. The owner is usually around during breakfast and dinner and takes the time to greet guests personally and, if you like, have a little chat. We really appreciated this personal touch. We also loved the collection of tips and recommendations she has put together for exploring the area, covering everything from activities and culture to simply enjoying the surroundings. Breakfast: Breakfast was fantastic — a huge variety of delicious food, with plenty of savoury options, fresh fruit, cakes, cookies and much more. There was something for every mood and appetite. Being able to enjoy it outside on the terrace made it even better and was a lovely way to start the day. The grounds: The grounds are beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. There is so much space to relax that you can always find your own favourite spot — whether by the pool, in front of the hotel, under the trees or out in the park. There are lounge chairs, sun loungers, hammocks, blankets on the grass and traditional sunbeds, so you can really spend the day exactly as you please. We loved how easy it was to slow down and simply enjoy being there. The restaurant: We had dinner at the restaurant twice and really enjoyed both meals. The food was excellent and made staying in for dinner an easy choice after a relaxing day at the hotel. Overall, Borgo Pantano felt like a place where every detail is designed to make you feel comfortable and welcome. We had a wonderful time and would happily come back.

Everything was great - maybe the only thing to improve would be the information about the half board and some flexibilty on what to chose for this (e.g. we were told half-board would enable us to chose any three dishes from the menu but when I opted for two appetizers and a dessert I was told that this was not possible). But that is only a minor point and nothing that had an impact on how much we enjoyed our stay.

Set in a beautiful environment with manicured gardens this was just what we needed after the hot ancient towns of Sicily. The restaurant and breakfast were excellent and our junior suite had two separate rooms which was perfect for us

The GPS directions in the car were very misleading. I suggest using Google Maps as a backup to find the property especially at night

Spacious. Good pool.

Bedrooms and immediately surrounding area could do with upgrading. They look a bit “tired”
