Hotel Gruber

Het hotel heeft een heel goed restaurant. Heerlijk, verrassend gegeten. Een fijne tuin om lekker buiten te zitten.

Ontbijt was sober. In tegenstelling tot het heerlijk diner, had ik hier ook iets meer verwacht. Koffie/thee faciliteit op de kamer zou een meerwaarde zijn.

Limited vegetarian/plant-based choices. I ate dinner twice in the restaurant and had to eat the same meal both evenings as there is only 1 vegetarian main dish. The entrees on the menu contain cheese and egg; there is no plant-based choice. The set menu was the same on both days, and does not include a plant-based choice. The breakfast was loaded with animal protein, including milk, cheese, butter, cream, yoghurt, ham and egg and limited plant-based options of homemade jelly and small pots of cereal. There is fruit. The bread was mainly white bread.

The breakfast was really good and also very personal. The lady of the house served us eggs and coffee and it was not the classical buffet like most hotels give. Nice.

The beds were uncomfortable, my back really hurt when I woke up and that's something I only have when sleeping on a campsite in a tent. Also at the checkout we waited almost 15 minutes for someone at the desk but nobody came... This was really unpleasant.
