Minoa Athens Hotel

The location is excellent, just one block from the metro and within easy walking distance of Monastiraki. The reception staff were very helpful and gave me great directions and recommendations. The room was comfortable, especially considering that you spend most of the day exploring the city. I also really appreciated the honesty of the staff. I lost a pair of earrings and they were returned to me at reception. The only areas I would suggest improving are the cleanliness of the shower curtains, which were quite dirty, and replacing some of the towels, as they looked a bit worn and discolored. Overall, if you spend most of your day out exploring Athens, these details are relatively minor, and I had a good stay.

I didn’t like that breakfast wasn’t available, as having breakfast at the hotel would have saved me some time in the mornings. They do have a nice café on the ground floor, though. The shower curtain was also really dirty and definitely needs to be cleaned or replaced, and the towels looked quite worn and discolored. Also, although the hotel itself is in a very convenient location, about a block away there were quite a few people openly using drugs, which made that part of the area feel uncomfortable.

The rooms were decent but small. But that’s how they are in Europe. The bathroom was very tight; the hand-held shower was not great. The staff were excellent, securing taxis for us when needed and offering advice on activities. The cafe below is a bonus to grab breakfast or a beer in the evening after a long day of touring.

The hotel is located just a block away from a heavy drug use area, which made it uncomfortable when walking, especially at night. That being said it is a short walk (25 minutes) to the main square, and 10 minutes to the train station. Also it is very noisy.

Very good location. Clean rooms. The room had balcony.

Old furniture, out-dated interior

Location is good.

No internet connection after 1st day of stay till we left. There were big ants in the room. Water problem.
