It seemed very expensive, especially as breakfast was not included for Booking.com guests

This hotel has lots of character and is a short walk into town - about 15 mins. The car park is especially useful so we can park up and forget the car for a few days. Everywhere is clean and the bed is very comfortable. The area is quiet although close to town. The staff are welcoming and helpful and there is a bar if you need it.

The building itself is very fine
We were allocated a bedroom for two with a small double bed in a cramped room in the basement (lower ground floor). I asked if any other rooms were available. They weren’t. I would say that a couple have to be slim to be able to stay in what I was subsequently told was a “small” double bed.
