Hotel Corte Contarina

We were really impressed by the comfort of the hotel. It’s a much older hotel but exceptionally clean and the breakfast was great. The best was the staff.

Great location - easy walk from Arsenale station to catch the water bus. Room was lovely, great shower. Was nice and quiet.

Was a bit of a hike up the stairs to the second floor but was good to help walk off all the delicious food. Would recommend asking for a lower floor room if stairs are a problem.

The Hotel is definitely on the cheaper side for Venice, but you can tell why, the whole Hotel is getting tired. We actually didn't mind being a little bit away from the action on this visit as we spent a fair bit of time over on Lido, and there are a few Vaporetto stops very close by but it will take you a while to reach some of the more popular parts of Venice on either the ferry or walking. The room was clean and of an ok size but the room facilities are basic.

Having to leave your room key at the desk each time you go out no matter the time of day and they lock the front door overnight so you can't leave of your own accord - they must unlock it for you. The staff are ok, but definitely don't expect anyone to really go above and beyond here. There was a ferry strike announced for the day we were due to check out and we couldn't get any info or assistance from the staff on the desk. They actually gave us incorrect information which we thankfully managed to confirm elsewhere!
