Rockwood Hotel & Spa

The hotel has a modern feel, nice onsen with an outdoor bath with great views all the way to the ocean. Friendly staff at the reception. The hotel shop also sells a wide array of regional goods and some interesting book on architecture, as well as an English Translation of the Tale of the Genji. The beds are comfortable and we had a lovely view on Mt Iwaki out of the window. It is located right next to the ropeway at Aomori Spring ski resort.

The dinner hall felt like a very impersonal large hall and the food was bland. It would be a perfect location to come back in winter to ski if it weren’t for the food.

It was nice and clean

It was remote.. no stores or gas stations near by.

A very nice ageing hotel that is kept in good shape. The room we had had a great view on the slopes of Mount Ikawa-san.

The dinner and breakfast buffet were a bit disappointing. During dinner some of the food choices ran out quite fast with the number of people eating at the same time. For breakfast the choice was a bit too limited for the type of hotel that this one is.

The location is great

There is no atmosphere in the hotel, it’s very boring
