The Odyssey Chiang Mai

I've stayed in many hotels throughout my travels, and very few make you feel quite as at home as this one. What began as a 2 week holiday turned into a much longer visit (obviously firstly because Chiang Mai is amazing, also because this hotel quickly became my happy place!). The staff are beyond helpful and welcoming, the swimming pools (if one isn't good enough, there's two) and lush greenery give the place such a premium resort-like feel, and the rooms are super comfy. Oh, plus the hotel is home to a couple of the cutest cats ever. If you're going to Chiang Mai don't even bother looking elsewhere, just book here.

We had a three week stay in the Apartment and needed good facilities and some space. We had both. A decent sized fridge and adequate kitchen, a balconey to enjoy and plenty of room and storage in the bedroom. Access to two swimming pools and a laundry was a real bonus. The Apartment was serviced everyday. Lots of good food outlets nearby as well as a couple of small supermarkets and a large market a 5 minute walk away. The Old City and other areas of interest were within walking distance and/or a very cheap Grab ride away.

As others have metioned, the bed is hard but we bought a toppa mattress for a small price at a local bedding shop and that fixed that problem. Perhaps a more comfortable couch to sit on would be my only suggestion! But then who spends much time sitting during their holiday!

Lovely sized room and balcony. It was clean and comfy and homely. I didn't use the pool but it looked great.

It's not the hotels fault but the room smelled a bit like people had smoked marijuana in there, and I couldn't keep the fly screen to the balcony open because the screen door was off its hinges.

Nice swimming pools, and lovely grounds with trees & shrubs Staff were helpful & friendly.

Bedbugs - because of this we left earlier than planned
