Perfect location for peace and quiet

Exceptional value for money at only three hundred and fifty for the week, stupidly cheap when bills, linen etc is all included. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and suited our requirements as a base for an evening. We were planning to stay 4 nights before moving onto somewhere else, but we felt we need the week to finish off our coastal journey between Newcastle to Edinburgh. The cottage is in the middle of the countryside, so a car is a must; its lovely driving through all the lanes seeing the wildlife. The double bed was comfortable, the children claimed the single beds were not the best, but they were OK in the mornings. The cottage was really warm too, our biggest concern was being cold; we had to turn it down at the radiators. Hot water was plentiful for 4 persons showering daily and minutes apart. The washing machine was also very handy with a 20minute cycle, perfect for giving the kids clothes a quick spin. Surprisingly, the clothes dried very quickly in the property because we couldn’t find an outdoor line to hang them. It was nice to get away from the fast and hectic lifestyle we lead. Would we stay again, yes we would.

Key collection details would have been handy prior to our attendance, along with the exact location of the cottage. The biggest concern was the lack of fire safety standards, because the property does not meet fire regulations (no thumb locks on exit doors etc) Both exit doors are very difficult to open. Rear was difficult at all times, front one in the morning, but we figured if we press the handle down a few times it would then unlock). The oven needed some baking trays, there are none provided. The garden is tiny, OK to have a glass of wine, but nowhere for the kids to run about and next doors dog does its toilet on the grass (so the kids were banned going out).

Wonderful view, wonderful position. Very quiet. Very kind, friendly, helpful hosts. Spotlessly clean house. Lovely beaches nearby with beautiful wild flowers of all sorts. Saw dolphins, & lots of hares in the surrounding countryside.

Plug in bathroom sink didn't work very well

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, which is surrounded by countryside and distant views of hills. The cottage was spacious with comfy beds and a homely feel. The hosts were very helpful too. It's located near Berwick-upon-Tweed, with lovely villages nearby, and is easily accessible by road.

Nothing at all! Honestly, we had all we needed for our stay and felt like we were in a home from home.
