Rosal by Seaward Suites

Excellent location, central but quiet, not big but very nice room with a balcony and spectacular view on the old square. Kettle and mini-ref in the room. The air condition didn't work at nights but the staff gave us a late check-out free of charge as a small compensation for inconvenience. We stayed in October and were sleeping with open window.

Superb, convenient location in a particularly pretty plaza in the old town. The bed was arguably one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. The bathroom had a wonderful rain shower. Breakfast was very basic indeed but beautifully presented. Blackout curtains meant I could have a lay in after a late night.

The aircon wasn’t working. There was a very handy small magnifying side mirror in the bathroom (for makeup etc) which, for reasons unknown, was removed whilst I was out for the day…. which seemed a strange and unnecessary thing to do.

The location was great and easy to check in with regular communication through WhatsApp. There was a message to let us know when the room was available which meant we could check in earlier. I thought the breakfast was good with a selection of meats and cheese.

We had a note on the wall saying that we couldn't change the air con settings because the machine was faulty which meant we had to get jumpers on and duvets (that were provided) to sleep under. It was 34⁰ degrees outside but the air con was freezing during the night in the room.

The location is great

Air conditioning was important to me because it was still around 30°C during my stay. Unfortunately, the listing did not make clear that guests cannot control the air conditioning in their rooms. It stopped working in the evening, leaving the room uncomfortable throughout the night. The staff told me it should turn on automatically at 9 a.m., but it did not. On the first day, I reported the problem and it was resolved around 2 p.m. On the second day, the air conditioning never came on. There was also no coffee machine, which I would have appreciated for a morning coffee before going out. The TV offered only Spanish cable channels; I had expected access to streaming services at this price point. Finally, the room could have been cleaner: the shower floor needed attention, and there were stains on the headboard. I would recommend that the property explain how the air conditioning works in the listing and address these maintenance and cleaning issues.
