A Better Place by Lisbon II

Here is an honest, balanced review of our stay at A Better Place By Lisbon II (R. Francisco Sanches, 69). The Google Maps pin is accurate, though if you arrive late at night as we did, it might take a quick 10–20 seconds of scanning the street numbers to spot the exact building entrance. The Positives (Cleanliness, Amenities & Connectivity): - Location & Transit: The location is solid. It sits in a normal neighborhood, but its real advantage is the proximity to the Arroios metro station, which makes commuting anywhere across Lisbon completely hassle-free. - Common Areas: The shared facilities are exceptionally well maintained. The kitchen is fully equipped if you prefer to cook your own meals, the dining patio is pleasant, and the bathrooms are clean and well-stocked. Any minor mess in common spaces is purely down to fellow guests. - Housekeeping: A special shout-out to the lovely housekeeping lady who keeps the property tidy. She only speaks Portuguese, but communicating through Google Translate was effortless, and she was wonderfully warm and helpful. - In-Room Gear: The private room came fully equipped with an AC, mini-fridge, wardrobe, comfortable bed, and TV.

- Deep Cleaning: While the general property is spotless, the room itself needed a bit more attention in the tucked-away spots, particularly the corners hidden behind the bed. - Space vs. Price: Even though dimensions are listed online and we knew roughly what to expect, the sheer physical size of the room is tiny in practice. Given the rates charged, it carries a ~10% premium over what it truly delivers. Comparing it with other available options across Lisbon around the same dates, you can find noticeably better space and value elsewhere. - Handling Feedback: The host was very friendly and communicative over chat during our booking process. However, looking

Good facilities, location, easy check-in and access, had a fridge which was very useful. Fulfilled its purpose very well, good value for money.

Unfortunately the walls were quite thin so you could hear the other parts of the building during the night but this seems to be common with hotels in Portugal. Also, some parts of the room weren't as clean as expected eg cobwebs behind bedside table.

Proximité de la station de Métro Arroios. En 5 stations vous êtes en centre ville et à la gare Rossio et en 7 arrêts à la gare Oriente.

La chambre ouvre sur un patio. L'escalier est raide avec 1 valise. Heureusement 1er étage. Plusieurs chambres dans un grand appartement. Certains colocataires sont bruyants

La persona que atiende es muy simpático. Nos permitieron dejar las maletas en su locker después del check-out. Estuvo bien la posibilidad de entrar sin llave en el portal y el piso, pero luego la habitación cerraba de manera complicada y se quedaba atascada la llave.

Por la noche nos encontramos 2 cucarachas. La primera en el pasillo y la segunda en el baño. No creemos que sea habitual, pero es una imagen que no te gusta encontrarte en tu estancia. Como las puertas no llegan hasta abajo del todo nos dio asco que se colaran por la rendija a nuestra habitación. El portal es un poco complicado de encontrar por la noche, cuando llegamos a Lisboa.
