Hollin House Hotel

Fantastic area

Not the hotels fault main road to the peak district was closed with no diversion.

Location was okay for our needs. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.

Parking outside the hall was limited with a steep walk down to the lower overspill additional parking which isn’t too good for disabled people.

Very clean and spacious

Wedding on and music till 12 but expected

Nice character in the main entrance area and they left out a jigsaw for guests to build, a very nice touch that I haven't seen elsewhere.

The room we were assigned was in the newer part of the building. We did not sleep at all that night due to poor sound insulation between rooms. At one stage, between 10 and 11pm, I could hear 2-3 television sets from adjoining rooms and bathroom activities of guests in the room above. The bathroom was dated and in disrepair. The toilet paper holder was broken, as was the lock in the door. There was mould coming through the paintwork and on the shower curtain and dust on the shelf below the sink. We asked for a different room and were offered a suite but this had litter from previous guests visible behind the bedside lockers and the bathroom floor/shower area was in need of further cleaning.
