Excellent food. Staff were great. Cathy in the restaurant was brilliant as well as the other staff. Compliments to the chef, couldn’t fault the evening meal we had. Perfect 👍😎

Breakfast was generally good although the bun used for my eggs Benedict was burnt Rhubarb Soufflee was exceptional.

The bedroom was cold. The shower floor was slippery.

Great location and an authentic experience - older style hotel so older world charm. Some issues with the lock on the door and the stairs are a punish with a suitcase!

Location to the city centre, on site parking and related history.

Room not cleaned properly. Bedroom area dusty, bathroom very dirty, mould on tiles, gunge around bottom of shower tray and filthy shower hoses. Bathrobe and bed bolster cushion stained and no fridge in the room. Also the room was not part of the main hotel. It was located in an old hotel (The Star Hotel) on the very busy main high street. No double glazing so very noises with traffic and revellers. This hotel backed onto the Swan Hotel in the adjacent street and was accessed by an a lane with lots of steps. A ramp was provided to get from the main Swan hotel to the Star but once inside it was all steps.
